I spent a good part of this last week wrapping up Lisa's deck facelift project. It's definitely one of my favorite projects. She wasn't in any rush so I broke up the project into chunks of time through the month of February, and we were both excited that it was completed. The deck is covered under a car port, so the wood is in very good shape, with little signs of weathering. I was able to sand nearly all the old finish off the existing parts of the deck down to bare wood. Including the posts, stairs, and deck boards. I started a few weeks back by removing the old lattice, and covering much of the bottom portion of the deck with new lumber. All of it has been stained using a water based, semi-transparent stain in a Cedar Natural Tone color. I brought in a few photos from previous albums I've posted during February, including the "Before" photos to show the progress up to completion.
I also went back to Mary's, a new client of ours in Old Hickory who I did painting work for the previous week on her back screenhouse. I masked off, and re-painted her front door trim, and I also painted her attic vents which aren't pictured here. Mary had asked me to install new door sweeps on both her new screen house door, which I also installed the previous week, and a new sweep on her back door as well.
